Term life insurance

GCSAA provides free life insurance and AD&D (accidental death & dismemberment) as a part of your membership. The coverage is provided by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (MetLife), and administered by USI Affinity.

Eligibility

This benefit is available to all members who meet the following requirements:

  • Are U.S. citizens (regardless of residence)
  • Are non-U.S. citizens but are lawful permanent residents (LPRs) of the United States
  • All membership classifications excluding student, affiliate company, facility, and friend

Benefits:

  • Age 49 and under: $10,000
  • Age 50 - 64: $5,000

All eligible members are automatically enrolled into the dues term life insurance group policy at no additional cost.

The coverage will terminate when an eligible member turns age 65. Since this is a term life insurance product, there is no member benefit equity that is being lost in the change. Furthermore, requests for benevolence funds can be made on behalf of members age 65 and older who have passed away, similar to current medical hardship requests.

At this time, there is nothing you need to do. Over the next couple of months, members who are eligible will receive a communication from GCSAA’s broker USI Affinity with details of the plan and an updated beneficiary form if needed.

In addition to the basic plans offered, USI Affinity will provide information to GCSAA members on new group voluntary plans. USI Affinity will be offering a concierge service from their licensed team of specialists to make sure our members have access to properly protect themselves and their families with the right amount of coverage.

If you have any questions or concerns about the changes to this member benefit, call GCSAA at 800-472-7878 or e-mail membership.help@gcsaa.org.
