Bevacqua named USGA’S chief business officer

The USGA has named Peter Bevacqua as its chief business officer overseeing the revenue-producing activities conducted by the association.

Bevacqua, 35, joined the organization as in-house corporate counsel in 2000. He has served as the managing director of U.S. Open Championships for the USGA since August of 2003. Bevacqua will become the first chief business officer in the association’s history, reporting to Executive Director David Fay.

Prior to joining the USGA, Bevacqua was with the New York law firm of Davis, Polk & Wardwell.


RCGA names Scott Simmons executive director  

The Royal Canadian Golf Association has announced that Scott Simmons is its new executive director.

Simmons returns to the RCGA following a seven-year executive management career in the Canadian beer brewing industry. During that time he and his teams have delivered record sales, marketing and brand management results.
 
From 1992 to 2000 he was the RCGA’s director of marketing and communications. Before that he held senior management positions with Procter and Gamble, International Management Group (IMG), and Sales & Merchandising Group.


Keller joins Bernhard and Co.

Bernhard and Co. has hired Charlie Keller as product technical and training specialist to provide field support and training to Express Dual and Anglemaster users and distributors in the Western U.S.

Keller has more than 15 years experience working as a golf course equipment technician and has used the company's equipment since beginning his career as equipment technician. In addition, he will also continue as a U.S. Air Force reservist where he has served for over 30 years.


Cleary hires McGuffin as sales representative

Brian McGuffin has joined the Cleary Chemical sales team as a representative for Northern Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

He has more than 20 years experience in the turf and ornamental markets, having worked for Chemlawn, Lebanon, and Agriliance. He began his career as an assistant golf course superintendent at Calumet Country Club, Elwood, Ill.


Otterbine Barebo hires Heimbach

Otterbine Barebo Inc., manufacturer of aerators and fountains, has hired Robert Heimbach as its new inside sales & service manager. He has more than 22 years of experience in field service management and sales, and will be responsible for inside sales and service support of the company's worldwide distribution network.
 
Previously, Heimbach was regional service director for Paxar America Inc.
