Training Your Employees for a Safe Facility

Safety training is an important part of a superintendent's job. Developing a safety training program is important because various federal and state agencies have regulations requiring specific documented training for a variety of activities that may endanger an employee. This online course will provide you with the tools to develop a comprehensive training program to keep your employees safe while working at the golf course facility. Sample training presentations covering hazard communication, emergency response, personal protection, and equipment safety are all included within the online course.

In this course, you will:

  • Develop skills for teaching adults through adult education principles.
  • Build a safety training program for your staff to include the proper use of golf course equipment and personal protection equipment, and the proper handling of fuels, solvents and turfgrass chemicals.
  • Learn to protect your staff from injury and to protect you and your facility from liability issues.
  • Learn to protect the investment of your management in the facility and the equipment and chemicals needed to maintain it.
  • Develop the ability to save money as a result of fewer injuries and equipment repairs.

    Course Modules

This course contains various training modules. In the Getting Started section, two modules focus on training you as a trainer of your employees. In the Safety Training Presentations section, you'll find sixteen modules containing PowerPoint© presentations and speaker notes to assist you in customizing your own safety training program. Printable employee training records for each safety training module are also provided to help you remain compliant with local and federal agencies.

There's no need to complete the entire course in one sitting. The flexibility of online learning allows you the ability to repeat modules or advance to the next module when you're ready.

For more details, review the course outline (PDF).
