Lawrence, Kan. (Dec. 17, 2024) – Club Car, a manufacturer of golf carts and utility vehicles, has made several significant donations in 2024 to the GCSAA Foundation, the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA).

Among the donations is $10,000 to the Larry Powell Scholarship, which recognizes students in underserved populations seeking a career in golf course and turfgrass management. The 2024 winner of the scholarship is Bret Corbett, a member of the Coharie Indian tribe who is a student at Virginia Tech University.

The company also donated a Club Car Lithium Carryall to the GCSAA Foundation’s Silent Auction, which was held in conjunction with the 2024 GCSAA Conference and Trade Show. The Carryall generated $15,750 for the Foundation.

In addition, Club Car has joined the GCSAA Foundation’s Drive Toward a Sustainable Future, a campaign launched earlier this year to ensure golf courses have the tools and resources they need to make sure they are environmentally and economically sustainable.

“Club Car is an innovative company, and they are supporting innovative programs that are focused on the future of the game,” GCSAA members,” GCSAA CEO Rhett Evans said. “Their generosity will benefit the entire industry, and we thank them for it.”

Club Car is a member of the GCSAA Foundation Platinum Tee Club, which recognizes organizations that donate $5,000 or more annually. Club Car is also recognized at the Champions Club level in the Foundation’s Cumulative Giving Program for donors that have contributed between $250,000 and $499,999 since 1987.

“We are proud to stand with the heroes behind the game – golf course superintendents,” Jeff Tyminski, vice president of product management and marketing for Club Car said. “Our passion for innovation and commitment to drive sustainability make it easy to support the GCSAA and their work to provide resources for golf courses and to expand access to educational opportunities for students seeking careers in the industry.”
