GCM NewsWeekly

David S. Downing’s career in golf course management has taken him all around the country and on a steady climb up the industry’s ladder to his current post as the vice president of operations and construction for multi-course owners Signature Golf Group. And now, the CGCS and 31-year member of GCSAA can add another notch to that impressive belt — president of the association. In this issue of GCM, senior staff writer Terry Ostmeyer profiles GCSAA’s 72nd president and his goals for the upcoming year.

Also, the staff of GCM recaps all the comings and goings in Orlando during last month’s GCSAA Education Conference and Golf Industry Show. This month’s cover photo, featuring Downing, was taken by Greenville, S.C.-based photographer Rob Belknap (www.belknapphoto.com).
