Leo Feser Award
The Leo Feser Award is presented annually to a GCSAA member superintendent in recognition
of the best superintendent-written article in Golf Course Management magazine.
This award is based on articles written for issues published in July of the previous
year through June of the following year. All member superintendents who have an
article printed in the magazine are automatically eligible for this award. The award
is presented at the annual Golf Industry Show.
The award honors the late Leo Feser, a pioneer golf course superintendent and a
charter member of GCSAA. Feser is credited with the keeping the association's official
publication alive during the Great Depression. For three years (1933-36), he wrote,
edited, assembled and published each issue of The Greenkeepers' Report
from his home in Wayzata, Minn.
Golf Course Management is the leading publication for golf course managers.
